Carmen McCarthy

Carmen grew up in central Illinois and earned her high school nickname of “Clucking Canary” since she was always singing. Her parents taught her and her three younger brothers early on to appreciate a wide variety of music styles, which stuck with them as they began performing themselves. Carmen graduated from Bradley University with a degree in Theatre and a minor in Business Management. She then moved to Chicago where she sang with the Chicago Symphony Chorus for four years. She moved back to Peoria in 2006 and has performed in musicals at Peoria’s community theatres – including singing with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra with Broadway’s original Mary Poppins, Ashley Brown, in 2012. Carmen is currently working on a patriotic album with a few talented local musicians. She is thrilled and honored to be a member of JC and The Redemption.
